The amalgam waste from dental units normally consists of amalgam residue. The used mercury vapor which is very harmful to human and animals is also released from the used amalgam capsules.
We provide safe containers that do not expose the mercury vapor to the environment and especially the staff working in the dental unit. During the activities of the unit, there are the possibility of opening the container several times which has the potential of exposing the Mercury vapor to the staff. The mercury vapor is a highly toxic substance that is readily absorbed into the body tissues when inhaled. It is apparently clear that Mercury vapor like other heavy metals is very dangerous, thus their exposure should be prevented at all costs. Studies have indicated that Mercury vapor has a potential of damaging the lungs and brains when inhaled. MedClean provides you with a safe and convenient way of collecting and recycling the dental wastes. Our waste compliance includes safer ways of collecting, recycling and disposal of waste facilitated through a variety of disposal kits.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the risk and recommends a maximum exposure rate for workers of 50 μg/m³ (micrograms per cubic meter).
All medentotainer include a medentovap® cover which effectively suppresses mercury vapors from escaping and entering the immediate environment.
